Useless post!!

Permalink 06:26:00 pm by cassie, Categories: Announcements [A]

My friend Sarah Jo has a gorgeous cousin. I don't usually go for good-looking guys for any good reason, unless they have a great personality. But, anyways, he does. Did I mention he's good looking?

Anyways, yeah. He's been floating around the pastor's daughter.

Phuh. Figures.

Guess it's back to nerd-watching for me. Not that I mind. :D

sarahhey (how's this for interruption) - does anyone see jcreagan any more? I dread the thought of wading through a million newbie posts on the same ten subjects (alas, they're all new to me, the true truly ancient antique very old one... but we all know how original that would sounds these days in ri-type) to see if he's still around. we used to e-mail each other regularly every six months until I changed my e-mail and lost his address. I'd like to yak about times with him. sometimes I really miss the ri.... but I just haven't as much patience as I'd need. I finally couldn't keep up with who was straight on anymore, and who was thought was on which side arguing over fundamentalism or seeing newbies argue over who was six months and 'ancient' now. It tired this girl out. it was lovely to be there. I'm still there, in its hidden heart, you know? anyway, enough of memory lane - anybody have his e-mail?

MarkOh. And for the record, I am not of West Virginian descent and therefore am unable to proclaim any of my cousins 'Hot'. Especially since they're all guys or 5 year old girls. So I have the choice between Gayism and Pedophilia. Eh-no. Heh. ;) Whoa. Dude. Cass's-friend-Sar and that-girl-who-left-the-RI-or-something-Sar are one and the same Sar? Trippin. Heh.

CassieYar. That's where we met, Mark. Or, kinda. Crazy stuff, that. it was back in the old days, though. You should have seen how nerdy we were the first time we met at a canoe trip. Nerd-a-licious! :D And yes, actually, last email I have from JC (it was a while) was from the first address.

SarahYou're from the RI? Cass - which Mark is this? :) I didn't exactly leave. I just don't go back... It's hard to explain. I love it - I just don't have time anymore...and some of the people there made me too sad. And hey - you can learn from reality tv - just only one thing! Thanks, Court. Hey - when you get the chance, could you link my new weblog on to the place? I'll hand out passwords as it pleaseth me... :)

MartiniJC has a new addy, but I can't think of it right now. Try the preacher's kid one... best chance of catching him. Busy boy, that one. :-D Which Sarah are you, Sarah? (I'm a semi-RI'er. I just hang around to irritate Brian. Do you hear that, Bree?)

Sarah->FirefighterBillOh, you remind me how sad I am that I can't take firefighter1 this fall like I wanted to. :( I was just hoping for that fourth career to top off my list. I drool when I see the cute little IFFA sticker on all those gorgeous big trucks, and I just wish- Cass, slap me.
07/04/03 @ 16:49
Comment from: Casio [Visitor]
CasioYou don't want the sticker, you want the truck with the firefighter in it, Sar. You just wanna be MRS. FireFighter Bill, my dear. :P But, yes, I know, you want to do everything in the world there is to do, like I do. "maybe I'll go into the Peace Corps this summer... oh, well, I wanted to do Wycliffe that summer.. oh well.. maybe, what about going to Africa?..." We're hopeless, Sar, completely hopeless.

-you mean sar meant 'hunks,' not 'trucks'?
07/04/03 @ 18:15
Comment from: chevytrucker [Visitor]
chevytruckerI don't know much but I do know this. If Sar meant "hunks" she would've said "hunks." Sar isn't one to fall for a hunk because most of them are all muscle and no brain. For Sarah to consider a guy, he's going to have to have something in his noggin'
07/04/03 @ 21:58
Comment from: Sarah [Visitor]
Sarahummm....it works both ways. cass knows my head. i'll leave any explaining up to her. my dad and I were out to breakfast this morning, and as we were waiting for our order, one of my fire-fighter friends did walk up and start yakking about school and experience (that precious word we all value so much) and his brother's dog. my dad kept talking after he left, and finally, afterward, he's like, "Um, so where do you know Chris from?" never fear. the concept is beautiful, and the smokey smell reminds me of camping long ago, and the guys are cute, and sometimes they have brains... but I think my best bet will be to marry Regular Guy #7 (Cass gets #1, Caity #2, Kate#3, Katie #4, Heidi #alreadytaken, nolongeronthelist, and so on.) and take firefighter1 with him. We can volunteer. Put the kid in the back seat of the engine so I can keep an eye on him and run the pumps at the same time. I just need a guy with an eye for firefighting. I'll settle for a FF2B, since I'm not getting any good prospects so far out of Sandown, Hampstead, Hooksett, Salem, and Allenstown (there is a Higgins in Allenstown, but I couldn't live with his mouth.) Granted, I don't know all of them, but Christians aren't exactly standing out anywhere, which is what they're supposed to do. The only Christian FF I know is Fred, and he's married and never holds C-spine, so he's out before consideration...

MarkDude. What's freaky is I made up the whole FireFighter Bill schtick out of complete random. I think Miss Cleo, my fake Jamaican hero, has rubbed off on me, heh. The only thing cooler than Cass is that The American Choppers show on Discovery Channel. I haven't laugh that much in a while. It beats Big Brother out even. And it's on like, every night for 5 hours. Heh. Pure estascy. "It's all about you, Dad. It's all about you. No, it's all about you. Its about you! ITS ABOUT YOU! It's all about you! NO!!!! ITS ALL ABOUT YOU!" heh.

Comment from: Cassie [Visitor]
CassieIf you write "writing" as "wrighting" again, I will, Chahles. What are you, some uneducated homeschooler or something?! Yes.. didn't I tell you that American Choppers is the best show out there, SB? I love when Pop and Paulie start arguing and Vinnie just stands in the background all awkward like, "Uhm. Well. I guess I'll move this exhaust pipe a few inches over on the table. Well, maybe not. I'll just stand here until the argument gets over with."

Comment from: Sarah [Visitor]
SarahNo dissing the Charles. Yes, Kate. You are high up. Cass is first, because she came up with the idea, and then Caity is next, because if I brought one home to mail to you, she'd come in and find him anyway. She does that. After you is Katie, not Dani, because Dani's a little young, and not mentally warmed up to the idea yet. She says she doesn't want to lose her individuality, but I think she's just scared. Anybody cool enough for Dani will keep her for her individuality, and become one all the same. I forget if I put myself on the list. Marraige scares me with its possibilities of dazzling beauty or terrifying ugliness. You could say I'm not mentally warmed up to it, except I am. I just get the awful feeling that I'd run away halfway down the aisle, even though I hope things will be settled before I'd let it get that far. If I ever get that far....which is why I'm not saying anything either way. Like mama always said, "You let the guys do the chasing..." The way I figure it, it's not my worry. But then, I could be such a flirt, too, even without being cute. My heart wants two things. My head and my experience have never met up with either...

07/29/03 @ 09:10
Comment from: Cassie [Visitor]
CassieWell, mostly pudgey mailmen and pudgey trolley operators, yes, Mark. You know me too well. But, ya know, a girl has to branch out when prospects are limited. I might have to settle for a skinny guy. I know I should hold out for the best (ref.: "I Kissed Dating Goodbye," Joshua Harris), but sometimes one just tires of waiting for the mailmen/trolley operators to come on their own volition.

CassieOh, I'm not desperate.. yet. I just happen to like my mailman. Is that so strange? :D
07/30/03 @ 03:39
Comment from: Sarah [Visitor]
SarahNot stranger than that garbage-disposal guy. Cass isn't desperate. If she was, I'm sure there would be opportunities somewhere along the way to marry a guy she didn't really love just for marriedness. But that's not love. She'll never be desperate. (Though she might say so.) She might be desperate enough to wish for it all right now, but she'll never grab at anything less than real love. That's because, as a friend of mine has pointed out, along with thousands of others, love is a choice. I know Cass better that most anyone. She'll make a wise choice. She won't marry a guy who isn't in it for the long haul. She won't marry a guy who's just in it for the long haul. She won't marry a bartender, because she won't go in a bar. She won't marry a fish - where would they live? She won't marry a guy who thinks he's too good, and she won't not marry a guy because she thinks he's too good for her. She'll swoon over some guy who writes her poetry and gives her wildflowers.... but not every guy that does. She's got her head on straight. It's like my friend Haydn says. "No, no. Stop! Stop....you'll know when somebody loves you, when somebody really loves you, and you love them back. It's not the person who thinks he loves you, or the person who's looking for a wife, and you fit his idea of a perfect wife. It's not - and this is important - even the person you could live with forever. It's the person you can't live without." She knows guys. There's just something about the pieces of works they are - they don't fit her. She knows herself. She knows - there'll be some person her soul clicks with. Somebody like her, inside. Not the same personality, or the same outlook, or the same thoughts, but the same home state of mind. Somebody who will Greek-dance at their wedding, and keep dancing when the party's over. Somebody who will have the same Song. Somebody who'll cook with her, and fix her car, and know how to unclog the toilet, and clean up the floor when the kids throw up. Someone who doesn't preach. Someone she doesn't have to try to feel something for. Someone she just does. Someone who will eat weird food and go to folk festivals and have two ideas of his own in his pocket to rub together. Someone who changes her into the same person she's always been. Somebody her dad can have an intellegent conversation with. Somebody who doesn't feel the need to discuss birth control with her mother. Somebody gentle. Somebody tall. Somebody who doesn't dress up to crawl under a truck. Somebody smarter than her - she couldn't respect a stupid guy. Somebody who doesn't tell her what wallpaper he wants in the bedroom, and has principles and convictions instead of rules. Somebody who doesn't watch her for six months to find out who she is. Somebody who wants to be friends at first sight, and falls in love when he knows her thoughts, passions, sadnessess, struggles, joys, opinions, and conviction. Somebody who lets her know what he's thinking, and listens before she starts telling him how she feels. Somebody with foundations under his castles. Somebody solid she can build her love on. Somebody real, with real love, based on facts and knowledge, not just dreams. Somebody who doesn't look at her, himself, or "us" all the time. Somebody who himself fits. Somebody who'll put his head in her lap on a couch after the kids have gone to bed and talk quietly with her, his best friend. Somebody who knows when it's not right, and when it is. Somebody who can be wrong. Somebody who can make it right. Somebody more than a great guy that thinks he knows her or loves her. Somebody she knows she does. Somebody with a heart of white gold. Somebody who doesn't have to give her space. Somebody who is her space. Somebody who can still be himself, and her herself, and still make ourselves. Nobody she knows fits her like that, except Christ. She'll meet him someday. It won't be "the best" guy that ever was. It'll be someone else, someone different. Someone she hasn't met yet. It'll be the best guy that ever will be for her. She's seen him, in her mind, before. She sees him now. She just hasn't seen him in person. When she does, she'll recognize him. He'll be out walking a little earlier than usual. She'll be out walking a little late. They'll meet accidentally on a road they've walked every night.
