Thanksgivings and cranberry sauce

Permalink 05:19:00 pm by cassie, Categories: Announcements [A]

This idea is blantly stolen from a blog that I love which is written by a person that I love. Namely, Jenni (That's Jenn-AH, not -EE). You may find her at Reeeally Dahhhlink and I would recommend that you visit her. I may update my blog more than her at times (and.. at times not. heh), but she is definitely cuter. And so is her blog.

Anyways. Minor tangent there.

I thank God for:

Family (Andrew, Charlie, Tess, Ray, Teds, Mom, Dad, and Yia)
Church
Friends
Good food (woohoo turkey!)
Good drink (woohoo Sprite!)
Good books (Tippage of hat to Solzhenitsyn and Poe, my current reads)
Chocolate icecream
Voice lessons
Good Poetry
Bad poetry (to laugh at until I remember what my own poetry sounds like)
Loud/soft/happy/sad/true/wishful music, and most other kinds in between
Cell phones with free nights and weekends
Midnight conversations on cell phones
Rivier College
Vienna Fingers
Dunkin Donuts coffee
McCommie sandwiches (they only cost a buck, dontchaknow)
Black Subarus with moon roofs
Cozy scarves
Mailmen with cool glasses
Cool glasses that make me look intellectual (although Sar says, "Well, you know. Just because *I* don't think your glasses aren't cool doesn't mean it isn't right for YOU to think they're cool, Cass...")
X-Files reruns
EssBeeCeeDees
My Dad and Charlie's baptisms (long prayed for, those)
My car, despite the fact that some of the windows only roll down and won't roll back up, and the fact that if I turn too fast the gas sloshes out of the hole in my gas tank. And the way that the left blinker doesn't automatically turn off after I turn, so sometimes I drive around for miles with the left blinker on. And how it's been making that strange squawking noise lately...
Zip Disks
JumpDrives
Hooded sweatshirts
Orange County Choppers
Crushes on Paulie from OCC
Twilight Zone Marathons
Even Stevens Marathons
My job(s)
Blogging
And many other numerous things

As I told Mark, I'm sure I could be more serious about the things that I'm thankful for, but none of that list is a lie. Some is superficial, but after you've eaten as much turkey as I have, it's difficult to be too serious. Oh yes. And cranberry sauce. I am very, very thankful for cranberry sauce.

CassieAgreed, John. Maybe I should have phrashed things a bit more thoughtfully. :D And it's true. I don't know if life would be more boring if not for those little things (heh), but it certainly would give me less to rely on God for.

JenOh bah humbug. You are way more cooler than I am, Cass girl. And it's good to be thankful for the little things. We can't be dead serious all the time. ;-)

CassieBeans and Paulie are cut out of the same cloth actually, Mark. :D BEeeeeeans....! And no we can't, Nej. That's why I'm here. Every time I try to be serious it seriously falls flat. Seriously.

john.okay. since i have the first comment, i'm allowed to say whatever i please about the post. right? :D My car, despite the fact that some of the windows only roll down and won't roll back up, and the fact that if I turn too fast the gas sloshes out of the hole in my gas tank. And the way that the left blinker doesn't automatically turn off after I turn, so sometimes I drive around for miles with the left blinker on. And how it's been making that strange squawking noise lately... that just really struck me, that we shouldn't be thankful despite those little annoying things. i think we should be most thankful for those little annoying things. the bus ride would be so much more boring if the person sitting beside you didn't want to always talk about himself. and nights would be more boring if the window was fixed, and you didn't have to grab an extra blanket from the rec room to cuddle up in. and your drive would be more boring if you didn't have that strange squaking noise... yessir, god keeps life wonderful in every way; he really does make all things to work together for the betterment of our souls. at least, that's what's been on my mind lately. O:)
