This is my fourteenth cumulative year in TAWAKAT/AWANA. I spent six years actually in the program as a kid, and I've spent the last eight teaching and working, as have Drewey and Chaz. Tess and Ray are still in the program, and I hope it's still around for Teds to go into it soon, too. It's a highlight of my year, week, and day. I do love those kids. Anyhow, every year we have our annual Crazy Hat/Hair Night, and if you know my family, you know we don't skimp of the fun around these parts. In fact, in my experience, there have always been a few TAWAKAT duds. You know, the kids who never make a crazy hat, the ones who, on Bible Character Night, make up some excuse like, they're dressed up like a missionary to UMass Lowell. Or something. However, I am proud of my family because we always go all out, if we can. I like to think that we're willing and cheery TAWAKAT participants. Now that we've ditched TAWAKAT for AWANA, I like to think that the fun still continues.
