So.

I had a really great night tonight. If only every night was a Saturday night up at the beach in the cold, with saltwater leeching into your sneakers. If only every night could be driven in to the sound of Caedmon's Call and New England highways. If only every night could be one of those where you're only comfortable next to the ocean if you roll up your pant legs and wear a hoodie all at once. And Sar said that my khaki-colored pants, combined with a-not-yet-faded dark blue school sweatshirt (as well as the encroaching darkness, I'm sure) made my new hair look fantastical. Though she didn't say fantastical - I forget what she said, really. But it was complimentary. Usually khakis do nothing for my hair. Nothing does anything for my hair, actually. Mostly it just sits on my head and shoulders and that's all. This may be a new approach to things...

I also think I sprained my ankle by wearing flip-flops on the beach. My flat-footedness doesn't do well with flip-flops, apparently. I was walking, and all of a sudden, something seemed like it popped, but it didn't feel like bones. I thought it was just that I had a muscle spasm or something, so I put on my sneakers and tried to walk it off. The sneakers kept my ankle steady, and I hardly noticed it after that, but when I started to drive home from Sar's and utilizing it as the necessary Clutch Foot - boy howdy, it killed. It kills even now. Oh momma.

So, anyways. You all can coddle me now.

Jen*sings* Coddleston, Coddleston, Coddleston pie! Why is a chicken? I don't know why. Ask me a riddle, and I'll reply "Coddleston, Coddleston, Coddleston pie... Cass, I never knew khakis did anything for anybody's hair, considering the location of said item of clothing. That is of course, unless your hair is down to your waist, in which case, your hair woud be in very close proximity to said khakis.

nikaI've got you beat, Kate; I've been craving New England for years now. :'( I was in Boston and Surrounding Area when I was eight, and again when I was fourteen. I miss it -- It's one of my favorite places in the world (well, not that I've seen all of the world. but it's one of my favorite places so far. that and monterey, ca.). And Cass, if every evening were like that, would we get used to it? Would it not be special anymore? I dunno. Maybe...but only after years and years. :) I love evenings like that.

I like to multi-task: wife, writer, nurse, Christian, ne'er do well. I do all with equal gusto.
