...of Mum's post about going to the Sportsmen's club tonight, I have to say that we saw a most astonishing sight on the way home from the uneventful event of the meeting (and it was, as Mom said, uneventful - not a single verbal badmiton match and someone even won the attendance prize for once..). As we were stopped at a near-to-home red traffic light, we saw an elusive character previously veiled for ages past in mystery but now exposed in the streets of downtown Northeastern Massachusetts - Waldo. Yes, Waldo. Where was he? That I could not say. But we found him. There, walking parallel to Top Donut, was Waldo, majestic in his striped red and white shirt and beanie hat, carrying shopping bags and walking with a gait that was unmistakeably Waldoean. "Where have you been, Waldo?" is the question ringing in all of our ears tonight. "Where have you been?"
And yet... we may never know, for as we watched in awe, he walked suddenly into the glow of Top Donut's yellow dissipated light, and then, living true to his books, dissapeared into the gaping shadows of the nighttime.
