Today, while napping before Emvee got home, I dreamed a series of bizarre happenings, one of which was that my retirement-age male-to-female transsexual patient of the last three days was trying not to be disturbed and so had placed a sign above her room door that said, "All visitors must sign in at the nurses station before entering room." So, sitting at the nurses' station, engrossed in some grueling task of sheer will, I was interrupted by someone whispering in my ear that they wanted to visit my patient.
And the visitor's name? That would be, "Fernando Mysterium."
This has been a weird week.

In reality, Fernando Mysterium looked just exactly like ANOTHER patient we had last week, a homeless man who, after some terrible cardiac surgery, signed himself out AMA and walked out the door of the hospital in his overcoat and sock, carrying his shoes with him in a bag.

Hmmm... Sounds like the dreams I've been having. Like my father deciding not to be our father anymore. And while I'm sobbing on the phone over this, 5 bears come in and lick my face.Or trying to keep my friends from being killed in the Nazi/Roman freak show by making them join a hockey team that wore yellow jerseys because they had a chance to live if they won.
