Awake My Soul

Permalink 06:57:00 pm by cassie, Categories: Announcements [A]

Ach, Derek. I wish you wouldn't preach sometimes.

The image of God invisible, the first born of all life
Before and within, he holds it all in
One name, one faith, one Christ

No one is good enough, to save himself
Awake my soul tonight, to boast nothing else

I trust no other source or name, nowhere else can I hide
This grace gives me fear, and this grace draws me near
And all that it asks it provides

No seam in this garment, all my rags to hide
No less than your love, for Jesus is mine

When I stand on the edges of Jordan
With the saints and the angels beside
When my body is healed, and the glory revealed
Still I can boast only Christ

To boast nothing else

KaliNot that anyone is probably reading this far down anymore, but I felt like commenting anyway, instead of *only* lurking around here... Though it has been shown not to be Welsh, so this is really pointless information, I think it's the 'y' that gives it that Welshness. Y is always considered a vowel in Welsh, and it seems to be their favorite vowel too. Took some getting used to, when I first started learning Welsh, to see all these words with (from my English mindset) no vowel and just 'Y's instead. Even the name of the country has a Y in it - Cymru (pronounced something along the lines of Coom-ree). Weird language, Welsh. But pretty cool too. P'nawn da! -Kali

This grace gives me fear, and this grace draws me near.
something contradictory in it, but a sense that i've felt often.

SarahHymn is really a beautiful word. There's something simple and Welsh about it. It must be the Y.

SarahYeah, but see? The basic structure is the same! Anybody know Cassie's schedule for Wednesdays? I thought I knew it, but I must be wrong. I'm trying to get in touch, but no luck...

I like to multi-task: wife, writer, nurse, Christian, ne'er do well. I do all with equal gusto.
