10 things to do before I turn 30

Permalink 10:25:00 am by cassie, Categories: Announcements [A]

The concept is stolen from some random RI post, somewhere, the URL of which I am too lazy to search out and retrieve with this slow little computer. I'm not going to get all theological and spiritual on you guys either, so don't be all up on me like, "AHH! She's leaving the faith because 'Get closer to God' isn't on her list of things to do before she gets old.. err... turns thirty!!!" And it's in no particular order, so don't be all, "Cassie is so materialistic!" on me either. Besides, half this stuff will never happen anyhow. It's just suppoed to be some sort of loose rubric of how I want to live my life until I'm thirty... or something.

1+Go to Africa
2+See Caedmon's Call and Derek Webb live
3+Drag race in some fun big old muscle car
4+Publish something. Anything. Ooo, the limelight.
5+Hike a mountain and camp out with friends
6+Sing in an opera
7+Backpack around Europe/Live in Greece for a year
8+Chew the fat around a Wendy's 99cent feast with all my long-distance friends
9+Eat bugs (technically, this goes with number 1 on the list)
10+Learn to swim, ride a unicycle, balance a twelve-foot ladder on my chin, whistle, and drink through a straw.

And, as a bonus, since number nine was somewhat of a given, I'll add an extra, since my Mum is away with my Dad in the White Mountains for their twentieth aniversary and can't say anything about it.

11+Get my nose pierced

Heh. This one is for you, Mom. :)

Nothing happens that she doesn't post and since I was without even a DIAL- up connection ,anything could have happened.. marriage preposals, housefire, poisonous snakes, wacky weed, strange uninvited guests, and I would have never known! thanks Cass, for watching the little ones, Dad and I had a blast. We love you.

B.R.QuinnCheck your mom's navel, Cass, word on the street is that she has lost the "moral high ground" on #11...

markHeh. You know, I think Cass' weblog is the only place one could see the words "Check your mom's navel" and not be all, "Saaaaywha?!" ;D

SarahGet out! Did she really go away on vacation and get her button pierced whilst you sat at home making lamb roast for the seven children? Your mom knows how cool I think she is.... [ditto, mark!]

Disappointed.Nope. She didn't. I'm just gullible. *sigh* That would have been so cool. If any mother could ever pierce her navel and deny you the right to do so, it would be yours. She could pull it all off and still look right.

MartiniHow about ear piercings? How about Mom piercing her ears and than refusing to let me do the same, huh? ;) Not that I care. Mom lets me dance. That's enough. ;)
